Xbox Series X VS Series S

Important decision!

Everything was strange in this generation and amongst rumors of Luckheart suddenly Xbox Series S came out and changed everything. Microsoft is offering a great and strong console for who wants perfect quality and performance and they also have paid attention to who doesn’t have enough budget and doesn’t want to miss games. We’re going to have a look at these console and describe what will you have if you pay 2 hundred dollars more.

SSD

Both consoles have a speedy SSD which will omit load screens. Xbox have added a nice feature to both consoles: Quick Resume let you to have 3 game open simultaneously and switch between them in a moment. The only difference on storage is the amount of space you have. On Series X you have 1 TB of free space while Series S have only half of that. Both of consoles have a port on the back which let you install an SSD and increase the amount of free space.

Graphical power

Now the obvious change is here, Xbox Series X have 12 teraflops of graphical power and till now is the strongest home gaming console. This amount of power let Series X run the games at native 4K and 120 frames per second (only for now and soon we will have games at 8K).

Series S is an economic console in this generation and is weaker than previous mid-gen consoles. It has only 4 teraflops power and is able to perform the games 1440p and 120 FPS.

We shouldn’t compare them with each other and have to look at ourselves and our budget. If you care about resolution and have a proper display and paying 500$ won’s cause you any problem, I recommend you to buy a Series X.

Optical drive

Unlike Series X, Microsoft have same policy for Xbox One S and Xbox Series S. They don’t have an Optical Drive and buying digital games is the only way to play games. So if you don’t care about having a collection of physical games, you won’t have a problem with buying a Series S.

Accessory

As you may already known, Xbox Series X is the best choice for who wants a really nice and custom console. If you’re interested in buying a bundle with a special edition of a game, Series S won’t give you enough freedom to elect. Bundle of 20th anniversary of Halo get along with a special edition of Series X and fans of Halo humbly enjoyed this beautiful console.

Series X vs Series S

These consoles have the same ports and you won’t have a problem to use different accessories. Both of them have 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and HDMI 2.1 out.

How much space does each one need?

If you’re looking for a light, minimal and little console, your only choice in this generation is Xbox Series S. It is 15.1 X 27.5 X 6.5 cm and with 4.25 Ibs you can easily carry it everywhere. Series X is taller (not as tall as PS5) and is 15.1 X 15.1 X 30.1 cm. Carrying Series X is not very easy and you should have a big bag for it.

Service

Microsoft pays attention to both consoles equally and they give same services for them. All of the games have a special edition for each console and are optimized to have the best performance. Different versions of Xbox Game Pass are available on both and you can enjoy from the games by paying subscription.
